Five times GRAMMY nominees Maverick City Music will continue to set records as they perform during the 64 GRAMMY® Awards. The electric show will be the first time in more than 20 years that an artist from the genre of Gospel or Christian artist has been broadcast during the awards ceremony and the first time that an artist has been recognized for all four categories in both genres.

Maverick City Music is nominated for the award of Best Gospel Song/Performance for “Wait on You,” which features Elevation Worship, Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Man Of Your Word” and “Jireh” with Elevation Worship, Best Gospel album for Jubilee Juneteenth Edition and the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Old Church Basement with Elevation Worship. The 64th GRAMMY Awards will air live on Sunday, April 3 through the CBS Television Network and stream on-demand through Paramount+ from 8-11:30 p.m. ET / 5-8:30 p.m. PT. Before the broadcast, the GRAMMY Awards Premiere Ceremony will be live-streamed on GRAMMY.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel.

Maverick City Music recently announced their most extensive tour co-headlining arena to date, including Kirk Franklin. The tour, which is dubbed Kingdom, begins on June 1 and will take in stops in 37 cities across North America, including Atlanta, Toronto, Nashville, Los Angeles, and more, before wrapping with a show in Denver, CO, at Ball Arena on July 31. Throughout the tour, the band is joined by Jonathan McReynolds, Housefires, and Housefires.

Maverick City Music has been creating a buzz since its formation in 2018. The group is comprised of a rotating collection of members, which includes Chandler Moore, Naomi Raine, Dante Bowe, Lizzie Morgan, MJ George, Aaron Moses, Joe L Barnes, and Brandon Lake; Maverick City Music is a group that brings together a wide variety of voices and styles, drawing inspiration from gospel, soul, R&B, and indie rock. Their album 2021 Old Church Basement, together with Elevation Worship, earned the group three Grammy nominations in 3 categories and nominations for their biggest song to date, “Jireh (feat. Chandler Moore & Naomi Raine),” and “Wait on You (feat. Dante Bowe & Chandler Moore. ).”
